Alexandra, Family, & Friends

Your Bio

Hi! This site is for family and friends of
Christina and Alexandra.

The picture to the left is in remembrance of our beloved Mother and Grandmother. Mom passed away January 3rd, 2010. She will be greatly missed. Love you Mom.

Welcome!! This is our photo gallery site for everyone that is anyone to my daughter Alexandra and myself to enjoy the many pics I love taking of her and for everyone that is anyone to her to have their pics on here so she can enjoy them also!!! This site allows me to store unlimited amonts of pictures. I will never have to delete any to add more (the big difference from most other sites)!! So this is a true photo album - so to speak.

How to access the galleries.
Everyone who is anyone will have been provided a password to access the password protected galleries below (If I haven't provided it to you or you have forgotten it, then contact me and ask!). Once you click on the gallery that you want to view, you will then be prompted to enter the password. This password is case sensitive. Type it just as I have provided to you, or easier yet, just cut and paste it. I've set the same password on all galleries, anyone who views a gallery will automatically be granted access to all galleries, which share the same password. For your convenience, SmugMug remembers that you are authorized to visit a gallery once you have correctly entered the password. You can revisit the galleries, provided you do so on the same computer, for 24 hours without having to enter it again. Of course, that is only if you have your cookies enabled. Anyone who visits the galleries for the first time, or longer than a 24 time frame, will be asked for the password.

So, you want to get some hard copy prints?
In addition to viewing these photos, you may also order prints of various sizes and gifts through SmugMug. Though the pictures are 100% my property, I am using service through SmugMug to upload, store, and organize UNLIMITED Amounts of pics and MPEG movies up to 8 Megabytes. Cheapest & fastest way to get any size photo print is to download (save) to your harddrive then upload them to Walmart.com Digital Photo Center or Walgreens.com Photo Center online. You can upload to Walmart.com or Walgreens.com & then pickup the pics at your nearest Walmart or Walgreens in a hour or so. Pretty cool. I can't attest to the quality of the pics from Walmart or Walgreens, but for quick/cheaper prints, it's the best! You can of course order them through SmugMug which would most likely be better quality (and would take much longer), but that's entirely up to you!

How about a $5 discount for joining!!
If you are interested in joining SmugMug (which I highly recommend), enter my referral coupon code of “7LklLagKdjQbo” (minus the quotes) into the referrer space on the signup form for a $5 discount off the cost of their service. Click on SmugMug for their home page.

PEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS ABOUT ANY PHOTO - IF YOU HAVE IDEAS FOR CAPTIONS, OR IF YOU JUST REALLY LIKE THE PICTURE!! ENJOY AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!! JUST USE THE "COMMENT ON THIS PHOTO" BUTTON, OR THE "COMMENT ON ENTIRE GALLERY" BUTTON BELOW THE PHOTOS.

REMARKS OF REMEMBRANCE
Eulogy for Barbara Ann Strobel
by Colette Jahr - January 7th, 2010

"I want to thank all of my Mom’s friends and family for being here today to celebrate her life and to mourn her death. I’m sure she would be thrilled to see all of you here and I know it would have meant the world to her. I suppose that the way that these things are supposed to go is that I recap her life and tell all of the good things about her.
But before I go on to celebrate my mother and what she stood for I must share with you the reality of what life was like for my mother and the family since she first became ill. Of course, nobody suffered more than my mother, but Dad you’re definitely second, managing Mom’s numerous appointments, medications, and treatments. We all shared my mother’s pain. At any one point, as a family, we were in denial, we were angry, or we were depressed. It was a confusing time. We wanted the best for her, but didn’t always know what that was. In the end I felt we all put up a good fight. We did what we could do. I have to ask myself what my mother would want for us right now.

I think she’d want us to heal ourselves and move on. She’d want us to talk with our creator and deal with her death in our own way, but also put her death behind us and live a life that she would be proud of.

I came across a short poem that reminds of my mother and I’d like to share this with you.

The lessons we learned when we were young are things we don't recall,
But Mom, we know, was always there in the center of it all.
She instilled in us the "little" things on which our lives are built:
Courage, compassion, laughter and drive, with a little sprinkling of guilt.

She taught us how to tie our shoes and taught us to stand tall
She taught us that to really live means giving it your all
She kept us sharp and on our toes; she pushed us to excel
And gave to me a love of words, as if you couldn't tell

She gave us all security, by always being there.
She didn't always agree with you but you could feel her care
She gave us all sincerity and our sense of wrong from right
Yet she would stay up worrying if we were late at night.

She was the keeper of the clan, and could tell a picture's story.
You know that she was proud of us, and reveled in our glory.
She had a way of reaching out that kept us all in touch
She helped enriched so many lives, we'll miss her oh so much.

So boundless was her selfless love and gigantic was her heart,
All our friends would call her Mom, and boy she fit the part.
She had a way of making friends no matter where she'd go
In the theater or checkout line, more friends she 'd get to know

When people say they knew my Mom, I know I'll see them smile
For she always had a joke to tell or a story to beguile
She clearly loved her fellow man and help when 'ere she could
If things went wrong and you needed help, you knew that Barbara would.

She always had a cheery way and passed that on to us
When life dealt here a lousy hand, she did not make a fuss
She'd look it over and then somehow, she'd find its sunny side
What some would call bad turbulence, she'd call a rocking ride.

Though sad it is to lose her now, she gave us all so much,
She wouldn't want us to see us cry, but to laugh and joke and such.
So dry off your tears, bring out your smile and let your laughter roar
For Barbara now is telling jokes, in line at heaven's door.

Barbara was a wife, mother, grandmother, “Grandma Buddy” to her younger grandchildren, a sister, aunt, friend, and nurse. She was also “Miss America” and I know this because she told me so!

She was an amazing seamstress, making many of our clothes, Halloween costumes, prom dresses, wedding dresses, and christening gowns. She once made 6 identical red jumpsuits and 1 blue one for my brother, so we could be spotted in the crowd and wouldn’t get lost when visiting Niagara Falls.

She loved to sing and dance, whether it was Sweet Adeline’s show, a Tibbit’s production (Coldwater's Opera House and Performing Arts Theatre) or in her own little show at home with her kids and grandkids as her audience.

She found the funny side in everyday things, like her dog Toto jumping in the dishwasher, playing Barbie’s with the granddaughters, and asking people how tall they were and then acting surprised that they piled it that high!

She was courageous, creative, ingenious, and spontaneous. When we were growing up, we thought she could do magic. She could make a delicious dinner from nothing more than leftovers, or Halloween costumes from rags (Stephen, remember Aunt Jemima)

My mother was one of the most amazing people I have ever met and will probably ever meet.
She spent her life caring for others, her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her students and her patients. She never put herself before others. She would often go out of her way to reach those who were in need. I loved her with all my heart and will truly miss her."
